“i painted this for the 150th anniversary of the mormon pioneers’ entry into the salt lake valley. the small child dressed in red symbolizes the hope of the settlers who were looking for refuge from harsh and unjust prosecution in western america. the painting was exhibited in the museum of art and history in salt lake city.”
